PERFORMING AT THE STEAMPLANT THEATER - SATURDAY, APRIL 2ND, 7PM
The Muse's Market intermixes Gabrielle Louise's social commentary folk music with the avant-acoustic music of David Rynhart, the poetry of Panama Soweto, the journalistic photography of Sebastião Salgado, and the fine art of Jimmy Danko and Laurie Maves.
Interspersed at key moments throughout the production, Chris Garre presents environmental philosophy and sustainability solutions ranging from alternative fuels energy to the benefits of eating local food. It's an upbeat, varied show with a strong sustainability theme.
The Muse's Market is making its stop in Salida amidst a 5-week national tour. The troupe is transported on a tour bus fueled by waste vegetable oil, ensuring a neutral carbon footprint. A bona fide modern-day Chautauqua, Gabrielle Louise presents this theatrical concert which creatively inspires, energizes, educates and, most of all, celebrates the community of citizens keeping the planet alive through art!
Tickets are $15 and are available for purchase online and at the door.
The Steamplant Theater is located at 220 West Sackett Ave, Salida, CO. The show will begin at 7pm.
Come to be creatively inspired, energized, educated and, most of all, to join the community of citizens keeping the planet alive through art!
This steam power plant was built in Salida, Colorado, by Salida Edison Electric Light Co. The oldest part of the current building dates to 1887 and Salida’s first public lights were illuminated on 7 Dec 1887, just five years after Thomas Alva Edison installed the Pearl Street power plant in New York City. The Muse's Market will be presented in the historic SteamPlant Theater, a fixed-seat theater complete with a full-sized stage and complete lighting and sound systems.
